Direct hire refers to employers sourcing their own maids who are still in their source countries and hiring them directly. These maids are usually found through the employer's own network, such as referrals from family, friends, or even a previous maid who has gone back to their source country. While you can interview and select the maid that suits your home care needs, you will still require assistance from an employment agency to handle the necessary paperwork, whether it's in the maid's source country or in Singapore.

Waiting time of a direct hire maid is around the same as hiring a fresh maid, which varies from 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on the nationality of the maid.
